Meteorologist Kristin Ketchell joined the NewsWatch 12 Weather Team in December 2009. She comes to us from Mount Laurel, New Jersey, where her passion for weather began. While on the East Coast, she experienced two of the most historic blizzards in weather history, 1993 and 1996. While vacationing in North Carolina with her family in 2004, she was a first-hand witness to the incredible power of mother nature when Hurricane Charley battered the coast of the Carolinas.

Kristin is a Cum Laude graduate of Millersville University of Pennsylvania, where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology with a concentration in broadcasting. While in school, she delivered weather forecasts every Wednesday on MUTV and was the proud recipient of the coveted "MU Emmy" Award for best streaming video weather forecast in 2008.

Although she is interested in all aspects of weather, she particularly enjoys forecasting. She loves anticipating various weather events, especially thunderstorms and snow. She also finds climate oscillations, like El Nino and La Nina, and their effects on weather patterns exciting.

Outside of meteorology, she enjoys reading, traveling, shopping, and spending time with friends and family.

You can see Kristin every Monday through Friday on NewsWatch 12 This Morning.
