LEXINGTON, Ore. -- Lexington mayor Sam Martin has resigned after just two months in office, citing personal reasons.
 
The East Oregonian newspaper said he told town councilors in a letter he thought the move was best for the Eastern Oregon town. The paper said it tried to reach him for comment but that his phone no longer works. He resigned Monday.
 
Martin replaced Valerie Doherty, who died in December.
