MEDFORD, Ore. -- An Oregon license plate with an anti-Semitic message will be recalled after it was seen on a pickup truck at a neo-Nazi gathering last month near Medford.
Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicle Services Division officials say they didn't realize the "NO ZOG" message on the license plate was offensive until receiving complaints.
The Anti-Defamation League says that "ZOG" is a racist acronym used by white supremacists to stand for "Zionist-occupied government" and express their belief that Jews control government and the media.
The plate was issued to 56-year-old James Larry Marr of Springfield last September. He declined to comment.
