SAM'S VALLEY, Ore. - One relatively young Southern Oregon vineyard is expanding despite a sluggish economy.
Folin Cellars is in the process of building their own winery and tasting room, nestled below the vineyard.
The Folin family says consumers are still buying wine off the shelf, but distributors aren't purchasing as much.
"People aren't drinking as much wine when they go out to a restaurant. And so distributors aren't ordering wines from them. And they definitely don't want to pick up any new smaller brands because they have a good inventory built up," says Winemaker Rob Folin.
The winery is expected to be done and ready for operation by August. Folin Cellars plans to start their first vintage in the new facility this fall.
