BUTTE FALLS, Ore. - A Southern Oregon fish hatchery is staying open despite budget cuts.
The Butte Falls Fish Hatchery was on the chopping block, but the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife now says the cuts aren't as severe.
ODFW says originally the state cuts were 30 percent. However, the state is now planning to only cut 18 percent of the agency's budget. That would keep the hatchery open for at least another two years.
