ROGUE RIVER, Ore. - The city of Rogue River is preparing for the 57th annual Rooster Crow weekend.

The two-day event is centered around a rooster crowing competition where roosters are given 30 minutes to crow as many times as possible. There is also a human crow competition that in the past has attracted people from across the country.

Several other events are taking throughout the weekend and city officials are looking forward to the boost to the city's economy.

"You've got the several bands going all weekend. You've got one of the biggest quilt shows in Southern Oregon going on... And those people have to eat someplace, stay someplace, involve themselves in someplace and that brings economic impact to our city," Rogue River Mayor John Bond said.

Saturday morning will see a parade through the city of Rogue River. The Rooster Crow Competition will begin at 2 p.m.
