Oregon gas stations will now have to abide by a "top off" ban.
The Department of Environmental Quality enacted the ban Wednesday, saying it will reduce benzene and other toxic air pollutants from Oregon gas stations.
'Topping off' is when a gas station attendant continues to fill a gas tank after the nozzle clicks off.
In some cases, the DEQ says overfilling a gas tank can cause a vehicle's vapor control system to clog and stop working, requiring costly repairs.
