MEDFORD, Ore. - Firework stand operators are hoping this year's sales aren't duds.
Despite the rough economy, local schools are jumping on the fireworks bandwagon.
On Highway 99 just south of Medford, for the second straight year the North Medford wrestling team is using a fireworks stand as part of its fundraising efforts. Money raised will go towards larger out of state tournaments, overnight meets, new uniforms and more.
The wrestling team hopes to sell out of all its product again this year.
"Sales are up quite a bit. It's a combination of a repeat tent, better advertising and people staying more local," North Medford Wrestling Coach Nolan Harris said.
The North Medford football team also has a tent in Talent. You can buy fireworks at these stands through Sunday morning.
