MEDFORD, Ore. - Many cities around the rogue valley are planning big celebrations this 4th of July.

Ashland is holding a parade Saturday beginning at 10:15 a.m. Starting Saturday morning no one can park along Main Street to make room for the parade's floats and displays. The Ashland Chamber of Commerce expects to get 30,000 visitors this weekend.

"We're in full swing here preparing for the 4th of July and you can already feel the great energy here in Ashland right now. Folks were able to put out their chairs and their blankets at 6 a.m. this morning. We do ask if anybody reserves their parade viewing spots along the parade route that they do not put any plastic tarps on the grass. We just want to make sure we leave it as we find it," said Katharine Flanagan, with the Chamber of Commerce.

Central Point is also gearing up for it's 4th of July parade. The Central Point Chamber of Commerce is expecting 23,000 to 25,000 people. The Central Point Parade starts at 9:30 a.m.
