NEAR KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - A series of wildfires are under investigation in South Central Oregon.
Officials have confirmed that at least one was human-caused.
The largest of the fires is the Muskrat Fire, located approximately eight miles south of Klamath Falls. At more than 1,000 acres, the Muskrat is burning in marshland between the nearby railroad and the Klamath River. The cause of this fire has not yet been determined.
There have been three fires reported on Bureau of Land Management Lakeview District lands, two on the Fremont-Winema National Forests, and two on Oregon Department of Forestry protected lands. At this time, those fires are contained.
