NEAR AGNESS, Ore. -- Former First Lady Laura Bush is in Southern Oregon this week for a rafting trip on the Rogue River.
 
Mrs. Bush is taking the trip with four of her childhood friends from West Texas, and was accompanied by the secret service.
 
On Thursday afternoon the group took out at Foster Bar in the Lower Rogue just above Agness.
 
"I've been to Oregon of course lot's of times before, but the first time on the Rogue River and we loved it. It was so beautiful, really, really great trip," First Lady Laura Bush said.
 
They were guided by Rogue Wilderness Adventures based in Merlin.
 
Mrs. Bush says she plans on visiting Crater Lake National Park next.
