LA GRANDE, Ore. -- A man charged with murdering three people in Eastern Oregon has waived extradition and will be arraigned in Union County on Thursday.

Gregory Alvin Cook of La Grande was arrested Monday in Washington state, hours after District Attorney Tim Thompson announced the 42-year-old was wanted in the deaths of Shannon McKillop, Frank Scaramuzzi and Jeremiah Johnston.

McKillop's dismembered body was found at a pond near Elgin July 24. The bodies of Scaramuzzi and Johnson were discovered Saturday in a wooded area north of Elgin.

Cook confessed to a Seattle television reporter while being escorted to an Olympia jail.
