Crews have Siskiyou Co. fire under control

NEAR YREKA, Ca. - Fire crews in Northern California have the upper hand on a wildfire burning near Yreka.
 
The Black Fire started Wednesday afternoon between Montague and Hornbrook in the Black Mountain Area. It spread to 25 acres in two hours. It quickly moved towards several homes in the area and forced firefighters to close three nearby roads. The flames came within about 400 yards of structures before crews were able make a line around the fire. No homes were effected.
 
At last report, the fire was 103 acres in size and full containment is expected Thursday night after making good progress to calm the flames.
