MEDFORD, Ore. - The Tea Party Express, a conservative group that has been traveling across the U.S. protesting higher taxes and what it calls the government takeover of healthcare, stopped in Medford Thursday.

Around 400 people showed up for the protest in Alba Park. The Tea Party Express is on its 5th day of a three-week, 38 city tour. The tour was planned one year before the 2010 Congressional elections to gain support for a more conservative Congress. This is the second tour for the group this year.

Organizers are protesting bigger government involvement, higher taxes and government bailout. The rally featured conservative speakers and musical entertainment.

On Friday the group goes to Portland and then to Puyallup, Washington.
