NEAR ASHLAND, Ore. - Dangerous weather conditions forced a helicopter to land on the Siskiyou Summit Friday.
The chopper took off in South Lake Tahoe and was on its way to Salem when its two Bend pilots made the call to land along Interstate 5.
"We got shut out in this snow storm that's moving from Oregon to California. So all up until here we were in really good weather and kind of got shut out in this little canyon here," Pilot Christopher Jordan said.
The chopper will remain on the ground near Milemarker 6 southbound at the Callahans Exit until the storm clears.
