MEDFORD, Ore. - Southern Oregon Drug Awareness, SODA, hosted its annual youth summit at the Santo Center in Medford Thursday.

The two day summit started with information about problem gambling. Then students learned about alcohol, marijuana, meth, and prescription drug abuse.

In the past, the summit has been an overnight event that combined middle and high school students. This year, it was broken up into two days.

Middle schoolers attended today and high schoolers will attend tomorrow.

SODA's executive director says it resources were strained this year because of the economy.

The event is funded by the Jackson County Problem Gambling Grant.

If there are high schoolers that would still like to attend Friday you can call 541-951-9399.
