GRANTS PASS, Ore. -- The Grants Pass High School Marching Band was one of eight bands across the country chosen to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in 2010.
 
However, to make the cross country trip to New York, the band must raise around $1,700 a student. Travel expenses, instrument costs and uniform replacements put the total cost of the trip around $330,000 for the 150 students, some of which haven't even entered the band program yet.
 
Students have already begun fundraising. Those fundraisers include collecting bottles on Sundays, busing tables Saturday nights, and some students are even getting jobs on their own.
