NEAR ASHLAND, Ore. - A driver is OK after the brakes on his semi-truck failed and he slid into a ditch on the Siskiyou Pass.

Oregon State Police say the truck probably gained speed of up to 70-miles-per-hour.

The driver used a gravel escape ramp, which helped slow the truck down, but not enough. The truck slid along a barricade for a few hundred feet before finally stopping in a ditch.

A small fire sparked from the truck's rubber wheels, but it was extinguished quickly.
