GRANTS PASS, Ore. - Volunteers in Josephine County held the annual one-night homeless count Tuesday, part of a statewide effort to get an accurate tally of the number of homeless people in Oregon.
The count began at Riverside Park and continued at other sites in the county.
Results from each county help determine funding for homeless and housing services.
Douglas County will hold its one-night homeless count Wednesday.
The 2009 statewide tally counted more than 17,000 homeless Oregonians.
