MEDFORD, Ore. - History buffs will once again have a chance to browse through the Southern Oregon Historical Society's research library this spring.

SOHS Executive Director Allison Weiss says it will reopen May 4th. In order to do that, however, the library needs help from volunteers. Wednesday at 3 p.m. there will be a volunteer recruitment reception at the research library in Medford. Weiss says no experience is necessary.

"I think by involving volunteers, it brings so much more of the community into the project, which I really like. This is a community asset, and if people want to see it survive in the long run, the community needs to get involved," Weiss said.

The research library closed in September because of financial reasons.
