MEDFORD, Ore. - The Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport is continuing to make renovations over a year after opening its new terminal.
Medford is the fourth airport in the country to receive the ProDIGIQ Airport Television Network. The TVs, located near gates two and five, advertise different location hot spots which coordinate with the flights going out. They also provide live weather and news updates.
Though the airport did have to help get computer lines to the TVs and use some of its own equipment, ProDIGIQ sponsors the system and actually pays the airport.
"They're going into several airports, and the more airports they go into the more they can attract the advertisers on the destination end, so its got a lot of potential," Airport Director Bern Case said.
The airport says advertising is important to its budget. The more advertising it gets from non-airline sources, the easier it is for airlines to have low rates.
