MEDFORD, Ore. --- The field is set for May's primary election for Jackson County Commissioner.
A total of 13 candidates are running for the two county commissioner positions.
The Jackson County Elections Office says the five Republican candidates for county commissioner position 3 equals the previous mark for most candidates per party per position.
Position 1 is currently held by Jack Walker, who is running for reelection. Also running in the primary is former Jackson County Commissioner Jeff Golden, former Phoenix-Talent School Board Member Rick Nagel, Morris Saltekoff, the former supervisor for Frantz Manufacturing, and Medford Chamber Member Don Skundrick.
In the running for Position 3 are eight candidates. Former Jackson County Construction Inspector Buck Eichler,
Attorney Jim Sims of Medford, Valley View Winery President Mark Wisnovsky, Firefigher Doug Breidenthal,
Former Central Point City Council Member Kay Harrison, Craig Prewitt, the former president of the Oregon School Boards Association, Applegate Restaurants Owner John Rachor and River Jet Boat Guide Court Boice.
The primary election is May 18th.
