KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -Klamath Basin car buyers will no longer be able to purchase a Chevrolet in the region.

The Cascade Auto Group is no longer selling new Chevrolets. The move is part of General Motors plan to eliminate 1,600 dealerships by 2014.

Customers will have to travel to Lakeview or Medford in order to buy new Chevy models.

Cascade Auto will still be selling used Chevys. It will also continue to sell Honda and Subaru cars.

The dealership plans to continue doing service work on new Chevy models, but that work will not fall under the warranty plans for new cars.

Cascade Auto Group began selling Chevrolets in 1990.
