GRANTS PASS, Ore. -- Young students are getting up close and personal with creepy crawlers, finding out they're not that creepy after all.
The company "Bugs R Us" showed off a number of insects and spiders at Parkside Elementary today.
The lesson included preserved and living bugs, which the students were eager to touch.
Those included hissing cockroaches, a walking-leaf insect, and a tarantula.
He says seeing and touching the bugs first hand helps the children understand what bugs do and how they live.
"Bugs R Us" travels to Southern Oregon schools throughout the year, and is expanding to include retirement home classes as well.
