New Recovery Center Planned For Addicts

MEDFORD, Ore. -- Drug addicts in Jackson County will soon be able to seek treatment in a new facility.

The Foundations For Recovery says it's current location at the Historic Woolworth Building in downtown Medford offers only recovery coaching.

By expanding its facility, the executive director says patients will recieve in-patient care and be put in a detox program. At this point, the center hasn't secured an exact location but says it's hoping to move away from the city.

"If they're nearby their sources of supply, that are maybe in town, that temptation is sometimes too overwhelming. So it's safer and effective to be in a rural setting," says Steve Hale, executive director.

The facility helps heroin and meth addicts.
