JACKSONVILLE,Ore.--Dozens gathered in a Jacksonville home to celebrate the life of a Rogue Valley resident that spans more than a century.
Paul Kerth turned 102 Saturday, surrounded by friends, family and neighbors.
Kerth is a retired carpenter who first came to the Rogue Valley when he was eighteen.
He has eight kids, about 14 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and about three great, great grandchildren.
Kerth said the secret to his longevity is very simple.
"I just lived one day at a time and I ate what I wanted," said Kerth.
Kerth is also a World War II veteran and said he was going to spend the rest of his day surrounded by those he's shared his best memories with.
