PILOT ROCK, Ore. -- A subsidiary of Boise Cascade has bought a sawmill at Pilot Rock in northeastern Oregon.

The East Oregonian reports that the Kinzua Resources plant south of Pendleton will change hands next week. Terms were not disclosed.

The plant employs nearly 90 people.

Tom Insko, inland region manager for Boise Cascade, said the company would meet with employees and make offers to most.

He says the Pilot Rock plant has been on a reduced, 32-hour week for several months, and that will continue.

Insko says the acquisition will help the Boise, Idaho, company maintain its other resources, including a particleboard plant.
