JACKSONVILLE, Ore. - Three gubernatorial candidates appeared in Jacksonville Tuesday for the Jackson County Democrats Fall Fundraiser.

The Keynote Speaker for the event, Attorney General John Kroger, was ill however, and unable to attend. So Democratic Contenders John Kitzhaber, Bill Bradbury and Steve Shields spoke at the banquet instead.

"Oregon's facing some amazing challenges today with our transition, our fiscal problems, high unemployment. I think I have some experiences and perspectives both in terms of my years in the legislature and governor that I want to bring to bare with these challenges today," Kitzhaber said.

The three made a joint appearance this weekend at the party's "Summit" Conference in Sunriver.
