KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -- A public defender has severed ties with one of two teenagers accused of killing an 18-year-old Klamath Falls man.
Bob Foltyn responded in the affirmative when Klamath County Judge Rodger Isaacson asked the attorney if his relationship with 17-year-old Kyle Mahan was "destroyed" beyond repair.
The specific cause of the split was not revealed in court, and Foltyn declined comment when asked by reporters outside the courtroom Monday.
Mahan and 18-year-old Konrad Casebeer are charged with murdering 18-year-old Antelmo "Temo" Herrera-Jimenez. The body was found Aug. 28 in a garden behind a Klamath Falls house.
Casebeer and Mahan left Oregon after the shooting and were arrested in Sacramento, on the lawn of the state Capitol.
