GRANTS PASS, Ore. - Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) held his annual Josephine County town hall Friday.

About 150 people attended the event, which took place in the Grants Pass High School gym. Most of the questions centered around healthcare.

In response to many questions, Wyden frequently cited his bi-partisan proposal, the Healthy American Act. He says it would guarantee private health care coverage to all Americans.

"The house didn't do anywhere near enough to contain costs, to contain premiums. There's not enough competition, not enough choices for the typical consumer," Wyden said.

Wyden said the health care system cannot be fixed unless all Americans are covered by insurance. He said that will stop the insured from having to pay for the uninsured.
