MEDFORD, Ore. - A Southern Oregon man is facing felony charges after sending three people to the hospital Saturday in what police are calling a drunk driving accident.

50-year-old Wayne Scott Rolfe was arrested Saturday after allegedly ramming into the back of a car stopped at a light on Highway 62. Police say he was under the influence of alcohol and didn't slow down. Rolfe has a history of driving under the influence.

Rolfe was arraigned Monday on charges of felony DUI and felony driving with a suspended license because of at least three previous DUI convictions.

"We see a lot of what you might call the repeat offenders. It's a very tough thing for people to get over alcoholism or the abuse of alcohol," said Lieutenant Bob Hansen with the Medford Police Department.

The three people injured have been released from the hospital. Rolfe is being held at the Jackson County Jail on $250,000.
