KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - A Southern Oregon county is setting high standards for its future.

Klamath County released its '20-20 Klamath Vision' on Friday. The vision outlines nine areas it seeks to improve on over the next ten years, including government, natural resources and education.

The development plan includes the formation of a Klamath Basin Education Council by October of this year.

It also wants to extend the OC&E Trail, a 100-mile trail that stretches from Klamath Falls to Bly, Oregon.

"This is actually Oregon's longest state park, at over 100 miles long, and only the first nine miles are paved. We think by paving more of the OC&E Trail, this will actually generate not only a tourist draw for cyclists to the area, but also contribute to fitness and good health here in Klamath County," said Toby Freeman with the 20-20 Klamath Vision Committee.

The 20-20 vision committee is recommending the county build a inter-generational community center in the next three to five years.

The vision committee says the 10-year-plan provides the county a road map of where to go and by setting time lines and goals, it will help all visions become a reality.
