    Pedestrian Hit by Car Remembered

    Grants Pass police are investigating a vehicle pedestrian crash that killed an elderly man last night. Police say a 64-year-old man, identified by friends as Leslie Wayne Collins, died while crossing the street around the 1300 block of Redwood Avenue.

    Sunday was Officer Charlie Carnahan's fourth shift. He’ll be in training for 16 to 20 weeks. He’s already been to the police academy and is a military veteran. Carnahan said he has to complete four training phases and a shadow phase before officially becoming an officer.
