NEAR GOLD BEACH, Ore. -- The body of a deceased male has been found along the Oregon coast.

According to the Curry County Sheriff's Office the body is believed to belong to 48-year-old Kevin Anton who was swept into the ocean on December 30th, near Gold Beach.

Police say the body was recovered approximately 2 and a half miles from where Anton was swept into the ocean after attempting to rescue his dog.

The medical examiner has yet to positively identified the body.
