OSU's Malcolm Marable Cited For Driving 104 MPH On I-5

By Jake Zivin

CORVALLIS, Ore. --- Oregon State cornerback/kick returner Malcolm Marable was cited for driving 104 miles per hour on I-5 near Corvallis on early Sunday morning.

According to Oregon State Police, Marable was stopped in a 65-mph zone near milepost 226, which is two miles from the Corvallis exit.  He was driving a 2005 Nissan Altima, and was warned for failure to carry proof of insurance and failure to carry registeration.

OSP spokesman Gregg Hastings told KEZI-TV that the car is registered to a member of Marable's family.  He added that Marable was "very cooperative" during the stop.

The Oregonian is reporting that Marable has already been indefinitely suspended by OSU head coach Mike Riley.  However, no official announcement has been made.

The situation is similar to that of former Oregon cornerback Cliff Harris, who was stopped in the same area on I-5 for driving 118 miles per hour in June 2011
