CENTRAL POINT, Ore. -- Winter like driving conditions are expected to make the mountain passes dangerous overnight, and the Oregon State Police and ODOT are warning people to be prepared for winter driving conditions at this point in the season.

Accidents on the Siskiyou Summit stopped traffic earlier Wednesday. Many travelers were caught off guard when they saw signs telling drivers they might need chains.

Chains are required on cars towing other vehicles and all single axle trucks.
