FLORENCE, Ore. -- An assisted living facility in Oregon is facing a $1 million lawsuit for alleged neglect of an 80-year-old man suffering from advanced dementia.

The lawsuit filed against Elderberry Square in Lane County Circuit Court by Portland attorney Kelly Clark claims the man was left unattended, fell several times, and suffered a broken wrist.

Clark sued Elderberry Square in 2007 on behalf of an Alzheimer's patient who was allegedly left unattended and neglected, prompting a state investigation.

Elderberry owner Lark Fisher denied the allegations.

Fisher said she shares the concerns of "anyone who has lost someone to Alzheimer's or death" but she noted that "allegations are not facts, and what's alleged in this case is not true."
