GLENDALE, Ore. - The Swanson Group in Glendale will cut 43 more workers from its plywood mill.

The layoffs will take effect April 1st. With this latest round of cuts, the mill, which employed 450 people a few years ago, is now down to 170 workers.

Mills across the country have been struggling since the collapse of the housing industry. A month ago, Swanson permanently cut 30 truck drivers from the payroll.
